This Fumi solo is a madhouse of self-deprecating jokes, puns and a whole lot of other stuff that doesn’t make sense if you don’t know much about Fumi and/or if you don’t speak Japanese. I’ve done my best 😅 Fumi wrote these lyrics himself and a lot of fans don’t like this song because it shows how much of a negative view of himself he has… but I view it more as a power balled. So what if they said you look like a horse? You own that. You show them Fumi! S L Boys are A-OK! 😍

* Ukyakyakya is how Fumi laughs (hence the supersonic lyric), pakapaka is the sound of a horse’s hooves, like clip clop in English. This line would literally translate to something like “Bwa ha ha ha, clip clop, bwa ha ha” but that is ridiculous (and the rest of the song isn’t??) and I refuse to write it.

** This is something that Johnny-san actually said to Fumi.

*** In Japanese the words wait (待つ・matsu) and genuine (純粋・junsui) come one after the other and when said quickly you can hear “MatsuJun”.

**** Fumi’s character in “Coin Locker Babies” was Kiku (キク) and the Japanese for hear/listen is also kiku. It’s usually written 聞くbut in the lyrics they’ve written it as キク like the character’s name since this line is briefly about the Coin Locker story.
